Knitted ‘Batwoman’ spotted in Merlin Woods

‘Batwoman’ is a red squirrel who lives in Merlin Woods in Galway, Ireland. She is so called because she always used to show up with her side-kick, a robin! Encouraged by ‘Friends of Merlin Woods‘ I immortalised ‘Batwoman’ in knitted form with a great pattern from rabbit hole knits. I love how the squirrel’s curious nature shines through. I’m working on a new version now that’s more biologically accurate so keep watching!

My thanks to Colin Stanley Nature Photography for the great shot.
