Ok, so my husband doesn’t have a sweet tooth really but any excuse to make a cake right? I have been meaning to try a scalloped edge on a cake for ages and I think it’s a masculine enough decoration for this event. I made Nigella’s butterscotch layer cake and iced it with a caramel swiss meringue buttercream. It was a nice combination.
The topper is made from some lightweight card covered with some recycled book pages and hand printed. It’s a technique that I think is quite effective and I might be using again on some Christmas cards?
