Blue Kangaroo

My almost three year old adores the Blue Kangaroo books of Emma Chichester Clark. In them, a little girl, Lucy, has a blue kangaroo who is her best friend.

For Christmas this year I endeavoured to make her a blue kangaroo of her own. I drew out a rough template from the illustrations in the book and handsewed the pieces together. I used button joints so that he could move his arms and legs.

He was a huge hit. I can’t wait to see what adventures he gets up to!
